Cardiac-arrest victim sues Bend clinic, claiming 'I'm having a heart attack' plea was brushed off

"A 46-year-old woman who didn't fit the stereotypical image of a cardiac-arrest patient has filed an $8.75 million lawsuit against a Bend clinic after she says medical staff repeatedly brushed her off in the months before her heart stopped beating.

Shelley Harding's lawsuit claims two doctors and other medical staff at Bend Memorial Clinic didn't take her concerns seriously -- including chest tightness, left shoulder pain, blue fingers and her observation that, "I feel like I'm having a heart attack."

Medical staff recommended physical therapy, a shoulder sling, muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory medication, according to Harding's suit filed last week in Deschutes County Circuit Court." Heart Attack Lawsuit
